We set crazy, unrealistic expectations for ourselves and then get down on ourselves if we don't meet them.

The question we should be asking ourselves is: Am I letting God use me to influence the lives of my children for Him? That's the measuring stick we should be using. But, it's so hard to remember that when the rest of the world is telling us to be perfect. I just love knowing that I'm not alone in the struggle.

Thanks for sharing.Lori Fairchildhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17773662774345939679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7561837919740137511.post-39969367085917041172011-04-26T12:47:26.310-05:002011-04-26T12:47:26.310-05:00Lori! (My floors are always filthy, and I have a baby eating off them.) I'm praying that you'll all be well very soon and that Christ's peace will rule in your heart during stressful times. Every day has become so packed with things that need to be done that we forget to sit and rest at the feet of Jesus. I know I do. Definitely food for thought as we struggle to keep our lives focused on Him and filled with His power. I've been thinking through this issue lately too, and it dawned on me that I don't keep the Sabbath holy. I cringe at the endless stream of tasks that need to be done, but I refuse to take the very rest that God knows I need, and that He, er, well, pretty much commands me to do! I think sometimes as moms, we forget why God called the Sabbath "holy." (Not that I have figured out how to do it...)Hi Kookyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14414232981567488952noreply@blogger.com
